With emerging technologies, the mobile phone market today have become more like a fantasy world where one gizmo after another is launched to overcast other mobile phones by showcasing their own skills and specialties. The Nokia N series is one such family of 3G multimedia devices that has captivated everyone with their unique attributes – from imaging to music capabilities.
The Nokia N93i is a member of this reputed family and is an upgraded version of their earlier offering – the Nokia N93. Infact, the 'i' stands for 'improved'. This exotic mobile phone with all the works of a real digital camcorder is not only good at still imaging, but also a master at shooting DVD like videos.
The Nokia N93i is a smartphone based on S60 platform (third edition) and works on Symbian Operating system. The handset features a unique 16 million coloured, twist and rotating TFT screen. This allows you to use it as a viewfinder while the handset is in camera mode – just like any camcorder. A secondary OLED screen displays information when the Nokia N93i is in closed position.
Camera module of the Nokia N93i is 3.2 megapixel with lens made by highly reputed Carl Zeiss. Clarity and high resolution are only the basic factors for a good picture. To make them really great, a whole bunch of other features like integrated flash, optical and digital zoom, autofocus are included in the Nokia N93i. However it is not the still photography but the video recording abilities of the Nokia N93i that set this smartphone apart from the clutter. The handset records truly high definition footage at 30 frames per second in MPEG4 formats. Digital camcorder's territory has been seriously breached.
There is much more to the Nokia N93i than just imaging. The feature list includes 3G video calling, WiFi, Bluetooth, global GSM mobile connectivity, radio, media player and a decent 50 Mb of internal memory with hot swappable memory card slot.
